Arizona Destination Wedding // Boho desert inspired wedding

Sean & Cailey

A look back at our time in the desert at Boojum Tree in Phoenix Arizona. From the exterior colors to the indoor tropical garden in the middle of the desert, this venue was a hidden oasis. Sean & Cailey’s vision and style matched perfect and could not have asked for a better weekend capturing their wedding. Here’s a recap of their full day

- Tell us about your wedding! What was the inspiration behind your day? Did you have a specific theme, style or color palette? Did you incorporate any cultural or religious traditions in any part of your day?

Where do I even start? Every moment of our wedding was incredible. Our style was more on the boho side and we went with burnt oranges and deep burgundy colors.

- Let's talk wedding decor. How did you decorate your space for the ceremony and the reception? Was any part of the decor DIY?

We had both our ceremony and reception at Boojum Tree and honestly, that place is so majestic we really didn’t need to do much decorating. My cousin Rosalyn created the table seating chart and the welcome sign, along with a sign the tank sign. We had our guest sign a motorcycle tank. And for the reception we added candles and vases with black sand and pampas grass and that was about it!

Let's talk fashion. How did you both choose your wedding day look? Describe the looks in detail.

I knew I didn’t want your typical wedding dress and was looking for something that felt like me. I wanted something different and unique and wasn’t sure if I was going to find anything. Then I actually found a used dress on line from a designer that I had my eye on and it worked out perfectly. Along with my dress I ended up wearing black combat boots and my husband wore a riding jacket with black Levi’s and a grey long sleeve rolled up. He likes to ride his motorcycles and I tend to be a little bit more on the gypsy side so we wanted to stay true to our own style and have fun with it.

What was the most anticipated or special moment of your wedding day?

Definitely walking down the isle. We had a lot going on with the health of a very important family member leading up to that morning. On the inside I was an emotional wreck that morning, however as soon as I walked down that isle and had Sean by my side, everything fell into place perfectly. Saying our vows to each other and connecting like that in front of so many people who loved and supported us, and having our kids there, it was one of the most special moments that I will ever have.

Do you have any wedding planning or marriage advice that you'd like to share with other couples planning their day?

I would say when planning a wedding, stay true to yourself and what you want that day to look like, don’t be afraid to go outside the box. And as far as marriage advice goes, life’s not perfect and it doesn’t need to be, stay focused on the love you continue to grow and enjoy the ride.
